GOTV weekend for Barack Obama in Rhode Island

What we have here is not a cult nor is it just a movement, what we have here is a popular uprising.  

The pent up energy of the populace has been spurred not by Barack Obama but by Sir Isaac Newton's Third Law stating that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

After the George W. Bush Error of hanging chads, Iraq, Swiftboaters, Katrina and everything else since the first year of the 21st Century, the population has decided that it has had enough.

Barack Obama can best articulate this reactive energy.

If you are anywhere near Southern New England, come to Rhode Island!

Barack Obama is Coming to Rhode Island this Weekend!

Below is all the information for GOTV weekend.  We are going door-to-door to our supporters all day, everyday SAT-TUES from 9AM-8PM (especially on Election Day) making sure that they go vote.  Realistically, with Barack coming on Saturday afternoon we’ll have to move all our canvassers to the morning on that day, but we have been assured that there will be a way for folks who canvass to get into the event (perhaps even some special treatment)!

Get Out the Vote for Barack Obama in Cranston
When: Saturday-Tuesday, March 1-4th: 9AM-2PM and/or 2:30-8PM
Where:  Either 2158 Plainfield Pike or 1985 Broad Street (both locations will be open 9AM-9PM Saturday-Tuesday), Cranston
Why:  We need folks on the ground to make sure our supporters know where to vote!

On election day we will NOT be doing any poll sitting or visibility, however, we will be putting signs out the night before.  The one and only thing that we need to focus on and execute is going door-to-door because that is the most important thing that people can do at this point.  This is the same plan that we have executed in the rest of the early states and we have seen what it can do in the form of monumental turnout and a string of impressive victories.  If we stick to the plan and hit our goals then we will win.

So far as recruitment is concerned, we need people the most ON ELECTION DAY.  If folks can take off work then that is ideal, but if not the we need them for that LAST SHIFT 3-9PM (i.e. After work/Leave work early-Polls close).  That is the most crucial time because people will be coming home from work and we will be going door-to-door making sure that our supporters vote.  

Again, we will have everything for these folks, including food, and all they have to do is show up.

      I did my best and called my brother and sister-in-law, my uncle and aunt, my niece and nephew, my grandmother who is 97, and every friend from Lincoln High School that I could remember, to tell them to all get to the polls on Tuesday and vote for Obama!!
