Questions for Hillary

Oh, so much handwringing from the Clinton supporters about Michigan and Florida apparently deciding against additional primaries/caucuses. But let's be honest, the Clinton campaign is very pleased about this most recent turn of events.
A "revote" in either Florida or Michigan does not help the Clinton campaign in the one remaining metric they can hang their hat on - and that is this asinine (and somewhat mythical) "popular vote" count. They know that any contests in those states will result in a much closer outcome than the initial votes.
Multitasker Alert!!

My apologies for the short diary, and I know this is a big day here at DailyKos as we feverishly anticipate the results coming in from Wisconsin and Hawaii. And fairly so, but there is an additional issue that needs some attention.
Charlie Brown, the Democratic candidate running in CD-04 here in California, posted a very important diary that is threatening to disappear with very little attention received at our humble abode.
Please click this link to view Charlie's diary.
For those of you that aren't aware, CD-04 is a very Republican district that has lived (seemingly forever) with the extremely corrupt John Doolittle as its represenative. Doolittle has finally left the building, and Charlie is a respected military veteran who has a great chance to turn this seat into a Democratic pickup. And his constant struggle on behalf of our veteran soldiers and their families is a huge issue for our country, especially as we approach the five-year anniversary of our ill-fated excursion into Iraq.
Please, take a minute and look at Charlie's diary and the links to the charities he is promoting for our veterans.

I understand that "electibility" is an important factor for many voters, especially partisans around Daily Kos, but ultimately I remain unconvinced that the right-wing controlled portions of the media, and the Republican 527 groups are going to be any better or worse for Obama or Clinton. Here are a couple of points I'm pretty sure of, however:
Underestimate HRC at Your Own Peril

I originally posted this yesterday afternoon, but with everything going on, it was shoved down the diary list very quickly. If it is a faux pas to repost, I will delete. Also, I apologize for the length in advance – there is some stream of consciousness here, but this whole nomination process has made me pretty reflective on my past, and where I’ve come from and what I believe in.
I’ve got to admit, I was a pretty lucky kid. My Mom and Dad started our family in the late 60’s in a crowded, dingy section of Norwalk, California. The five of us (my parents, me and my two sisters) were pretty poor – my pops was driving a truck and doing odd jobs where he could find them, Mom was doing some accounting work. When I was a few years old, they moved us into a decent part of Long Beach, not too far from Grandma’s house.
More after the jump...
Why I'm NOT Scared of a Replacement Republican in CT-Sen

From the very first comment in
McJoan's front page diary:
orchulli would hurt lieberman, which may help lamont as lieberman wouldnt pull as many R votes. but could also hurt lamont that now that R is credible, he could be a threat to win with Lamont and Lieberman splitting a lot of dems. hard to tell.
Funny, I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Now that Lamont has won the primary, under which scenario can the Republicans claim anything more than a moral victory in the CT-Sen general? Let's look at the possible outcomes, shall we?
A good read

Recently, I've been reading a very interesting book called "The People Themselves" by Larry Kramer.
What really hooked me on this book are the first three pages of the introduction. The author lists a few different scenarios from the late 1700's - court cases and congressional decisions that directly impacted the Constitutional rights of the citizens of the United States. The hook is in the reaction to those decisions by the citizenry and how closely they held the concepts and appreciated the frail nature of their independence.
One paragraph sums it up nicely:
